Not one, but several shipwrecks with lost treasure have been found off the coast of Nova Scotia and in part thanks to the use NORBIT subsea sonars. Working with a Cape Breton based captain and crew, geomatics firm McElhanney used the ultra-compact and highly configurable iWBMS Xh as part of the search efforts and historic discovery of the wrecks with coins, emeralds and other suspected treasure.

Checkout the below news piece, and Season 1 of the ‘The Death Coast’ streaming on the History Channel (USA) and Crave and USA Network (Canada), to learn more and see history be uncovered through the use of subsea sonar.
