The WBMS Forward-Looking Sonar (FLS) series by NORBIT delivers ultra-compact, high-performance underwater sonar imaging for both mobile and stationary maritime platfor

Built on a flexible sonar architecture and powered by advanced wideband multibeam sonar technology, these systems provide real-time, long-range imaging with industry-leading range resolution—revealing fine underwater detail across diverse maritime applications.

Whether for underwater inspection, subsea construction, defence and security, or exploration, this curved-array multibeam sonar system supports both established and emerging applications with exceptional performance.

As a compact forward-looking sonar, the WBMS FLS series is ideal for navigation safety, obstacle detection and tracking with NORBIT’s GUARDPOINT Software, terrain avoidance, and situational awareness in both shallow and deep water. The WBMS family of FLS Sonars are well suited for many platforms including crewed platforms, UUV, USV, or fixed installations for remote monitoring.

The WBMS FLS provides a simple interface for both operators and autonomous vehicle computer systems. The WBMS FLS has a minimal footprint required for cabling and mechanical mounting. The WBMS FLS is capable of operations up to 6000 meters depth and provides maximum flexibility for projects that require variable depth requirements.

The WBMS FLS series comes in two models Compact and Wide:

FLS Compact: Features a fully integrated transducer and curved receiver array, delivering a very portable, high-performance option that integrates especially well on subsea vehicles. 

FLS Wide: adds an independent transducer mounted to the housing, expanding coverage while maintaining a compact design for a wide variety of platforms. 


Standard Kit Includes Topside Unit, (SIU), Interface Cable, Pigtail Cable, Mounting Hardware & Accessories, and is delivered in a compact flight case.
