NORBIT Oceans are excited to announce that we are hiring service personnel to our Customer Services Department. We supply customers worldwide with Maritime Environmental Monitoring Solutions installed both onshore, on offshore installations and ships. The core in these solutions is a Linux based computer system with our own geographical information and decision support software interfaced to our own electrooptical cameras and other maritime sensors as AIS, GPS, Radar and various data processors. We will give you training on all these products, and you will get the opportunity to specialize and develop in subjects that are internationally recognized. The Field Service Engineer position is in this a unique opportunity to get an overview and to harvest valuable experience that can be utilized in the future.
As a field service engineer in NORBIT, you will be an important part of our service and support process for our installations around the world. The service and support process typically starts as a customer support request and moves through remote analysis and offer phases before ending up as a service mission where you will travel to a port, board a vessel and service the equipment. The position requires short and frequent travels to both international and domestic marine- and/or offshore- installations. In addition to service and support, you can be involved in production, testing and calibration, which involves electrical and mechanical assembly, programming/flashing of firmware/configuration and testing.
- Technical support / field service: Communicate with customers to diagnose and solve problems.
- Technical support hotline duty schedule.
- Participate in Failure Analysis-cases.
- Participation in in-house projects.
- Onsite training of customers operators.
- Onsite Service & warranty jobs on Norbit Subsea systems .
- Assist Project Engineers onsite in installation & commissioning.
Qualifications
NORBIT is looking for a motivated and devoted employee with the following qualifications:
- Master, Bachelor, or a technical College level education in Electronics/Electro/Automation/Mechatronics/Computer Science.
- Relevant experience may compensate for lack of technical education.
- Organized and structured work habits
- Good team player, but also strong independently i.e., out on fieldwork
- Quick learning skills
- Experience with industry-, marine- or offshore- installations and requirements is an advantage.
- Good English skills, both orally and written
- Ability to travel worldwide
