The Year 2017 saw the expansion of NORBIT explorers in the Asia Pacific region with the establishment of the Singapore office. As part of the expansion framework, Science Engineering Associates (SEA) Corporation, Chiba-Tokyo, was established as our premier exclusive partner to achieve NORBIT’s expansion of iWBMS systems into the Japanese market.
The Japanese market has always welcomed high-end technology but yet commercially attainable to every market segment from nautical charting to commercial applications.
As part of NORBIT’s commitment in supporting our partner, a two-day acoustic theory, operation and installation for the iWBMS was conducted in Tokyo Bay for SEA Corp engineering personnel. Such training is critical and important to our partner, as it allows them to gain confidence and familiarity of the iWBMS, which will then allow SEA Corp to confidently support the Japanese Clients.
As part of the market awareness and penetration strategy, SEA Corp organized a demonstration of the iWBMS and LIDAR system onboard a vessel of opportunity at Kurihama, Kanagawa Prefecture on June 1 & 2, 2017. The iWBMS and LIDAR system was interfaced to HYPACK software to demonstrate acquisition of combined dataset of the seafloor features and adjacent breakwater above water features in a single pass. The demonstration was well attended by key people from the survey industries, governmental organization, and oceanographic institutes.
SEA Corp will again have the IWBMS and LIDAR available at the Maintenance & Resilience, Tokyo 2017 on July 19-21, 2017.
NORBIT is also pleased to announce that SEA Corp has sold the very first iWBMS Narrow Beam system in Japan within the first month of being our Partner.
