NORBIT awarded contract for environmental and asset monitoring system

Trondheim, 27 July 2020: NORBIT, a global provider of tailored technology to carefully selected niches, today announces that NORBIT Aptomar, part of segment Oceans, has been awarded a contract from an undisclosed customer in Asia for delivery of the SeaCOP eVTS system. The system is designed to be used for environmental and asset monitoring. The value of the order is approximately NOK 20 million.

“We are very pleased to be able to also secure a contract for the SeaCOP system in Asia, proving the global market potential of this solution,” says Per Jørgen Weisethaunet, CEO of NORBIT.

The SeaCOP eVTS system combines remote sensing technologies like radar, infrared cameras and sonars, with state-of-the-art data fusion and artificial intelligence. The purpose is to give the user a situational awareness, information and tools to increase efficiency and reduce cost, at the same time ensuring the safety of people, the environment and marine assets.
